The kit I ‘had’ to have…

Amongst all my other nonsense, my workhorse kit was the Pearl 22x14 /12x8/16x14 Session kit.

But my son is getting seriously in to his drumming, so I gave it to him and ‘needed’ to build my replacement kit.

So, we have a Nordic maple/poplar 6-ply kit in 22x14/12x8/16x16 wrapped in red glass glitter wrap. Bearing edges are double 45 degree. I took the rail mount and cymbal mount from the old kit (plugged the holes on it) and put them on this one. Giving some clear G2’s a go on the toms, and a couple of nice touches with the Crash Boom Bam Hendrix sleeved washers, and a Gadunk! hoop protector.

And the snare is a Nordic Cherry snare with inlay, finished with traditional wax. It uses the Welch Tuning Systems cable tuning mechanism that keeps both heads in tune with each other.
